The
Big Green Gathering
What is it? The Big Green Gathering is a
5 day camping event which is currently located in the Mendip
Hills in Somerset. It has grown out of the original Green
Gatherings of the 1980's and the Green Fields of Glastonbury
Music Festival. It has developed organically in response to
a desire from people within the green movement for a festival
that was focused on Green issues. Now we have somewhere between
15,000 and 20,000 people expected this year. Staying Green
is now a bigger challenge than ever. The Big Green Gathering
Co. Ltd. was established in 1994
Held in August
- Catch the train to Weston-Super-Mare and catch the special
big red bus service to the Big Green Gathering site. |

chilled atmosphere you’ll find on the festival circuit,
and that is us!

Music
for Africa
Founded by Tom Toomey in 1999 raises money to put music into
the lives of African children. 'Most of our income is raised
via the open air concerts we hold each July and these funds
enable us to buy instruments, find, train and pay the wages
of local music teachers - and in the last few years we've
even built new classrooms. The festival is held at the Magnificent
Montacute house an Elizabethan stone-built house, incorporating
National Portrait Gallery exhibition, garden and park
Held at Montacute House in
July, with kind permission of The National Trust. -
