TAROT -The Heart of the Faerie Oracle
Renowned faerie artists Brian and Wendy Froud have hit a home run with this delightful and artistically arranged oracle. I first became aware of Brian Froud’s work with the very naughty Lady Cottington’s Pressed Fairy Book and the humour of that work is apparent in some of the cards here – The Big Behind being a fine example.
TAROT The Heart of the Faerie Oracle By Brian & Wendy Froud (Abrams, £15.99) [FIVE STARS] Renowned faerie artists Brian and Wendy Froud have hit a home run with this delightful and artistically arranged oracle. I first became aware of Brian Froud’s work with the very naughty Lady Cottington’s Pressed Fairy Book and the humour of that work is apparent in some of the cards here – The Big Behind being a fine example. There are 68 oracle cards accompanied by a guidebook written by Wendy Froud. Using it with a couple of tarot spreads I am familiar with yielded excellent results. The text is insightful but sticks to the faerie theme and so you do have to interpret it a bit differently. It is masses of fun and a beautiful looking thing. Some of the cards are breathtaking, for example The Blessing positively glows with light. This is a great addition to any tarot lover’s collection. Tania Ahsan
