The timely reissue, albeit British debut, of this comprehensive and overwhelmingly persuasive volume is timely, because the global public is currently absorbed by noetics, via Dan Brown's Lost Symbol. It is comprehensive, because The Noetic Universe (published Stateside as The Conscious Universe in 1997), thoroughly and methodically presents the evidence for so-called Psi, from telepathy to clairvoyance to psychokinesis. Overwhelmingly persuasive, because one is left in no doubt as to the existence of these phenomena from the standpoint of either robust empiricism or defiant scepticism. Radin's approach is reader-friendly, yet relentlessly linear in argumentation - and the elegant presentation of a century of laboratory data. He eloquently glides between assessing the vigour of scientists' own prejudices, and the rigour of replicable, if frequently ignored, experiments. May those general readers, who followed The Da Vinci Code with The Holy Blood and Holy Grail, gain even more insight by following The Lost Symbol with this. Yv
