If you go with the blurb on the back of this book, it promises to be a fascinating insight into the life and career of the woman known as the ‘psychic detective’. Unfortunately the book doesn’t quite live up to the expectation.
Whilst the early chapters about Angela’s faith and how she came to terms with her gift in relation to it were interesting to put her life and work in context, the continued references to it throughout the book didn’t seem to leave much room for the stories themselves.
With a lack of flow between chapters and the feeling that each story has been heavily edited and cut short, you are constantly left questioning ‘what happened after that?’ Added to which the pieces about her work on crimes only made up a very small portion of the book, a surprise considering the moniker she has been given.
Whilst Angela McGhee may be an excellent psychic, her book sadly doesn’t do her justice. Awen Clement
