ATLANTIS: Lost Kingdom of the Andes by J.M.Allen

Atlantis is a magical, mystical lost city populated by higher beings and powered by crystals? Then this is not the book for you! For Jim Allen, a nifty bit of mental arithmetic over 26years ago led him to conclude that the lost civilisation of Atlantis could lie not at the bottom of the ocean, or in numerous other locations suggested over the years, but in Bolivia, in the amusingly named Lake Poopò.

Allen is certainly no Past Lifer from the fabled city.  His research is methodical, detailed and supported by some excellent satellite photos (oh the marvels of the internet, etc).  He takes an account by Greek Philosopher Plato describing Atlantis and uses the book to systematically demonstrate that his chosen location fits the criteria (with the odd bit of twisty explanation!).  Those who have read other books by this author would perhaps find this book repetitive, and I wish that Allen’s sexist comments would vanish without a trace, but the theory is intriguing.  For me though, the secrets of Atlantis remain undiscovered by this book.  The legend lives on!
