Free Will

David Cammegh explores the idea that our concept of ‘Free Will’ prevents a true sense of happiness, suggesting that it has superseded our old sense of where we belong. Just like any addictive drug, Free Will hooks us and propels us down a spiral of desire and want, to eventual disappointment and disillusionment.Have we truly lost our sense of connection with ‘All Things’? Once we were at ‘One’ in the great realm of Unity, like a drop in the sea. And because we were a drop in the sea and the sea is the sea – the same everywhere – we were both a drop and the entire ocean at the same time. Then, it happened that we were, in effect, separated from that great Unity of consciousness and had to find out what it’s like not to be so unified and wonderful. And in doing so, our daily lives became a process of discovery, finding out just what it is we had lost, and so as we return, and as we shed any sense of individuality and separateness, we will know what it is we have lost even more than before. And thus our return is so very good. And thus the Unity grows. The same principle of losing something and getting it back applies to the acceptance that our lives are given and set and that we all have a small but vital role in the whole of Creation.
