Life Saving Essentials

In the early '80s, armed with a business degree but with no other purpose in life than to get rich quick, Susie Anthony was on a hedonistic path working for some of the richest people on earth. It became a slippery slope that eventually led her to rock bottom, the victim of drug addiction. Then a near-death experience guided her onto a higher path of spiritual awakening. But not all remained well. Recently forced to fight for her life again, she shares her experience of the extraordinary power of the essential oils that saved her.
During my life I have received powerful initiations and divine wisdom. I’ve learned cuttingedge psychological and spiritual insights. And at last I discovered an ancient map that clearly describes the challenges and the experiences to expect during each of the Seven Stages of spiritual awakening – some call this alchemy. All that I have learned has enabled me to develop a practical formula for life-changing miracles based on this ancient map of the great hermetic sages, prophets and visionaries. Few yet know about such early alchemical maps. However, this very precious and unique 21st century guide to living in spirit at last makes it possible for every kind of spiritual seeker to rediscover their bliss and achieve a constant, upward spiral of spiritual growth, while contending with the demands and challenges of everyday modern living in a substantially toxic world. In November 2007, I met with The Hon Mr Al Gore, recipient of "I was told if I had left it one more day I would have died" the Nobel Peace Prize and former US Vice President. He agreed with my theory that when we live out of harmony with spirit, we are more liable to cause harm to ourselves, others and to our environment. This is most often through a series of ‘spiritual emergencies’. These ‘breakdown to breakthrough’ experiences can sometimes be mysterious and exciting, yet most often they are dramatic, traumatic and frightening. I was about to find out again…

Helping Hands

Wouldn’t life be great if everything went to plan? It would be so much easier if we never experienced delays at the checkout, didn’t have to go ‘back to the drawing board’ after a change of plans or if there was no longer a need for a plan ‘B’. Change, however large or small, can have a substantial impact on the quality of your life. Change is the one constant in life and it is experienced by everyone, whether you’re a ‘fly by the seat of your pants’ kind of person or someone who meticulously plans every miniscule event in their life. Mat Tyler, Nicolya Christi and Annie Lionnet offer up their own delicious morsels of guidance to help us grow stronger and healthier in mind, body and spirit!
The Direct Approach
Because we’re living in a world which is not perfect, coupled with the thousands upon thousands of interactions, transactions, conversations and interpretations going on between the plethora of people within the world, it’s no wonder that the best laid plans always seem to go astray! It’s really an impossible task to demand perfection of yourself when you’re living in an imperfect world. In our disjointed, clunky-world conditions, the answer to every deviation within our life is simple; embrace change. Spiritual Confidant Mat Tyler says it’s a time to start experiencing the flowing kind of life-style that you deserve without the tension that change often provokes within all of us. Here he shows us exactly how…

Empowerment - A Collective Crisis

Women are saying ‘no’ to false-powered Macho Man, and ‘no’ to disempowered, feminised Caring Man, and because no man wants to stay with a woman who’s continually saying ‘no’ – the men are saying ‘no’ too. Joseph Serra from the Culture of Honouring Project, speaks candidly about his work to reunite the sexes and restore balance and harmony in our relationships by taking the ‘Archetypal Journey’.
It’s so heart-breaking when you realise there are millions of couples separating every year, all over the world. Not statistics, couples. People like you and me who fall in love, then maybe have children and it all just goes askew. It’s heart-breaking for the children too, even if, in the end, everyone agrees it’s the best thing. Our culture’s evolving. We are evolving. We are our culture. And probably the most powerful evolutionary factor of the 20th century was the rise in the power of women. This empowerment has made relationships very, very diffi cult. Relationships have become very difficult to sustain because women are saying ‘no’ to the brittle, self-important, emotionallyilliterate, macho bravado of men. And as men cast down their false power they are left disempowered, which is less threatening, but also less masculine, and therefore less attractive and less inspiring. And so, all in all, the women fi nd themselves being unwillingly rejecting. And in the end, despite their fears, they are walking out – in their millions.

Gateway to the Unconcious
Reverse Speech, which still baffles scientists, is a communication process that occurs every time we speak. It manifests backwards in our forward communications and can be heard by recording human sounds and conversations and playing them in reverse. Karina Kaiser explains all.
Reversals (the name given to reversed messages) occur in the unconscious mind in everyday language as well as in metaphors and archetypes. They communicate information from many levels of our psyche. Similar to Milton Erickson’s Hypnotherapy, Reverse Speech offers a new way to access our deep unconscious in a manner hitherto largely unknown. On the surface, Reverse Speech reveals our conscious thoughts at the time of speaking, either supporting the forward communication or, if someone is lying, revealing the lie in reverse. Even if some important information is omitted or left out in the forward speech, we may hear the omission in reverse. On a deeper level the unconscious mind often addresses disease, behavioural patterns, unconscious thoughts and belief systems, using pictures and images or metaphor and archetypes to describe these patterns. Over many years of research it has now been shown that the unconscious thinks and speaks in these pictures, allocating specific metaphors to specifi c types of behaviours or belief systems. At times Reverse Speech has shown the deeper issues relating to diseases we may suffer. Often it will reveal what is to be done to shift and alter these metaphors or archetypes, or how to bring relief from the disease, creating transformation from deep within, which in turn can thereafter open the gateway to new experiences, with a new found way of being. On an even deeper level still, we can hear with the use of Reverse Speech, communications from the deepest part of our being, the Soul. Reverse Speech makes a clear distinction between Spirit and Soul. Spirit often appears in the fi rst person whereas the Soul names itself every time it wants to communicate with us.

Way of the Tracker

We have all been in the position of feeling bored with life, unsure where we’re heading or unable to find meaning in the countless activities that keep us going. In our modern world we generally have an expectation that life can be satisfying at the least and exciting and wondrous at its best. How do we make and optimise the changes needed when we feel that life is just not right? Carrie Jost may have found the answer in LifeTracking
Uncomfortable symptoms that won’t go away such as aches and pains, ongoing illness, irritating conditions, difficult relationships, feelings of inadequacy and many others can be the indication of us being out of step – out of step with what our lives could be. Most of us have a sense of how life could be – better in some way – and the puzzling part is how to get there. How do we get on track? How do we connect with the flow of life and move on in the best way for us? The aim is self-empowerment – finding understanding and the simple energy tools that will keep us on track.

Sick & Tired?
It is estimated that at least 300,000
people in the UK suffer from ME/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS),
though some claim the figure could be as high as a million.
Estimates of its direct costs to the NHS range from £879
million to nearly £16 billion. Meet the new therapeutic
heroes, the practitioners of Reverse Therapy and Mickel Therapy,
who are providing effect help for those with ME/CFS.
Mickel Therapy's innovative approach,
carried out through purely spoken therapy sessions, targets
the cause of the wide range of physical symptoms people experience,
rather than treating their effect. THe treatment is not a
form of psychotherapy and the symptons as the body's way of
communicating a message. Through a simple process of doing
some detective work to understand what is behind each individual
symptom and teaching clients hot to take action, clients can
stop the body sending symptoms once and for all. Since its
inception, Mickel Therapy has successfully treated over 700
clients with 92% of all clients who start treatment reporting
a return to full asymptomatic health. 'In these times of rising
waiting lists and drug costs, Mickel Therapy offers a very
timely and innovative treatment whereby people can be shown
how to treat themselves without medication or supplements,'
says Dr Mickel.

Mind How You Go
Good Intentions
We
all have a powerful ‘YES’ current in us, which
moves towards our greatest individual and collective well-being.
It guides us to our most alive, vibrantly healthy state of
co-creation with existence.
However, there is just as powerful
a ‘NO’ current, which lives in resistance to that
communion and that aliveness, just for the sake of it. Whenever
we are chronically blocked or stuck in our lives, this is
the meeting place of the Yes/No. In this place, there is a
limit to the positive programming techniques. We must consciously
engage with healing the unconscious resistance and self-sabotage
patterns. We’ve probably all been there as well: endless
therapy and clearing of chakras to get rid of our blockages.
And yet we can still end up feeling we’re not getting
anywhere. Does this sound familiar? If it does, you may be
ready for Intention Alignment Healing, which is also a self-healing
technique that anyone can practise after the initial attunement.
So what is this, another empty promise from some other healing
modality? No, it is the awakening of our natural alignment
to that YES current. It is the re-membering of our unified
field of consciousness. It is the healing of our sense of
separation and fragmentation. I have seen the results of this,
most powerfully with students who have gone through intensive
self-transformation and become a living embodiment of their
soul’s purpose.

Mind How You Go
Claire
Gillman asks psychiatrist Dr Raj Persaud about his mission
to get rid of jargon from the mental health debate, and about
how self-help techniques and spirituality can help to prevent
problems.
As a dyed-in-the-wool medical professional
holding over eight degrees and diplomas including a first
class degree in Psychology and a Masters in Statistics, it
is not altogether surprising that Dr Raj Persaud, a Consultant
Psychiatrist and Senior Lecturer at The Maudsley Hospital
and Institute of Psychiatry, is cautious about the benefits
of complementary medicine. In fact, he believes that, ‘there
is a very poor evidence base for many popular treatments outside
of scientific medicine and some of these treatments are even
dangerous.’ An inauspicious start for the subject of
a KS magazine interview, you might think, and yet it was Dr
Persaud’s strong conviction that you have to treat the
mind as well as the body and that a patient should be treated
as more than the sum of his symptoms that prompted him to
specialize in psychiatry in the first place. He says: ‘Holism
is the mantra many Western doctors trot out but the reality
is psychiatry and psychology remain staggeringly minor parts
of the medical school training. I did a degree in psychology
to compensate for this awful deficit I perceived while I was
at medical school.’ As a broadcaster and writer and
in his role as Gresham Professor for Public Understanding
of Psychiatry, Dr Persaud now champions the need for greater
public awareness of mental health issues and he is a firm
believer that more can be done in the prevention of mental
illness. And it is partly for this reason that he has just
published (in collaboration with the Royal College of Psychiatrists)
a new book entitled The Mind: A User’s Guide......

Dr
Brenda Davies speaks to Claire
Gillman about integrating the best of all worlds in
both her personal and professional life, and her vital role
in unifying medical and holistic practitioners in order to
improve our wellbeing
When you meet Dr Brenda Davies for
the first time, you are immediately impressed by her warmth
and charisma, and you come away with the distinct impression
that you have known her for many years. This easy rapport
is testimony to her skill at putting people at their ease,
despite the fact that she is one of the biggest names and
most influential teachers and speakers in the MBS community.
Surprisingly, Brenda only came to prominence on the international
stage running workshops and lecture touring in the last 20
years, after a working life that spans being a pharmacist,
mother and psychiatrist. It
seems that Brenda is a teacher who actually practises what
she preaches when it comes to seeing life as a journey and
she has never been afraid to trust her intuition and guidance
to make changes in her own life. As she explains in the introduction
of her first book, Rainbow Journey (Hodder) published in 1998:
‘Holding on to what we think we want is not always the
best thing. Accepting what the universe in its greater wisdom
is offering us, helps us to widen our horizons and moves us
along our path with yet another lesson learned. Most bruising
or pain is caused by attempting to cling on to what was; being
unwilling to let go. We must allow the river of life to carry
us along until we find where we need to be.’

Breath
of Life
Kate Osborne revisits Martin Jones,
founder of the Holographic Breathing® method, who invites
us to try out his simple step-by-step guide to healing through
this little known art of breathing
I first discovered Holographic Breathing
whilst looking through our Sept/Oct 2006 issue and was struck
by what seemed a rather curious, and even foreign way of breathing,
yet fascinated by the repetition of breathing patterns in
the body. I asked our then editor, Richard, ‘So what’s
it really like?’ He smiled and said, ‘Call him,
and give it a go!’ Now some seven months later, a few
sessions the wiser, I found myself cheekily asking Martin
‘Would you mind giving everyone else a go too?’
And being the trouper he is he generously obliged. So for
anyone who didn’t see the first feature, here is quick
bit of revision. Martin explains: ‘I was suffering from
an incurable disease related to the central part of my face
(the maxilla and the muscles of my face). With the only sign
of some relief being two years of orthodontics, I found that
by concentrating on my own form of “self-medication”,
lying back and simply breathing, I was able to manipulate
the bones in my face, release the pressure on the muscles
and actually aid a very natural healing process.’
And so the Holographic Breathing method was born. As Martin
discovered that the body repeatedly mirrors itself he was
able to fine-tune the breathing method to access and heal
all areas of the body.
